Source: TechWhack News

Two of the top automakers of the world were due to collaborate with each other to share technologies to develop hybrid vehicles running on fuel cell technologies. General Motors were in talks with Toyota over technology sharing which has pioneered in this field and sells vehicles like Prius quite successful around the world. However, the latest news is somewhat disappointing for the biggest car company in the world GM.

The latest reports in claims that the companies have decided to part their ways over conflicts over the technology sharing issue. They are now going to scrap a planned fuel-cell vehicle joint venture over this disagreement. The partnership was due to start something this year but they stalled during the talks on how much fuel-cell technology to exchange. The report was released by the Asahi Shimbun media group.

However, the companies might still continue to co-operate with each other on research and development in environmental technology for automobiles. The vehicles they were planning to build were environment friendly and use hydrogen and oxygen as fuel source to generate energy. There is no emission and market experts believe that this technology has the potential to provide an alternative for gasoline run vehicles on the roads.

This news would come as a disappointment for the end consumer as the resources generated by this collaboration would be definitely resulted in faster development of technology leading to better products in the near future.
