Founded in March 2000, AEC owns an affordable, on-demand high-grade hydrogen production process that is safe and affordable. The hydrogen production system leverages a proprietary chemical process that yields fuel-cell-quality hydrogen from fresh or salt water, with no known harmful by-products. Pending patent approval, AEC will not be specific about this technology, but it involves an alloy made from abundant and inexpensive raw materials that apparently creates a magnetic fieldt that "cracks" hydrogen from water. By varying the mix of the metallic components, they can increase or decrease the hydrogen yield. AEC’s technology does not require electric power or any external source of energy to operate. Essentially, you would place beads or pellets of the alloy in your fuel tank and add water to produce hydrogen. The process is pH sensitive. The alloy tablets will contain the necessary pH-effecting chemicals so that when the mixture is added to water, hydrogen bubbles out at a particular rate. A bladder system is envisioned that would add or remove water from the reaction in order to start and stop the production of hydrogen for whatever application -- on demand. No storage necessary. It is applicable to any hydrogen fuel cell, both mobile and stationary. No toxic chemicals are used or produced and, in fact, the water formed as a by-product of the process is drinkable. The used alloy pellets are not only biodegradable, but promise to actually benefit the environment. AEC is focused on the worldwide commercialization of its patent applied for hydrogen technology. The company sees immediate applications for all stationary and portable fuel cells, back-up power applications, electric-powered automobiles, government and residential and commercial/industrial applications for users wishing to gain independence from the existing electricity grid. AEC is moving quickly to complete the necessary engineering refinements and industry certifications required to enable mass deployment in 2004. AEC also owns patented technologies that enable electric utility companies and multi-national industrial companies to increase their power output by up to 50% with a significant decrease in cost. This is accomplished without increasing the amount of fossil fuel that is used, meaning less dependency on imported fossil fuels and lower fossil fuel pollution levels.
